Overview
As the most important task is defining a clients vision before starting any project. During this stage I make sure to not only understand the story and why they do what they do, but lay down expectations and timelines.

Now is the time to break out the crayons, markers, and pencils to get my ideas from out of my head and onto paper. Once I gather my thoughts to execute on I move to the computer and into the appropriate applications.

Overview
Once the fun is had and final designs are ready to be launched, I re-visit Step 1. Revisiting the initial audit meeting will allow me to know exactly how, when, and where the deliverable will be sent.

Overview
I end the process with a final retrospective with the client. This consists of a recap of what was done, and what to expect next. Resulting in a final closure, and a future relationship.
Teamwork with clients and my coworkers produces the greatest deliverables.

Where do you generate your ideas from?
I am a firm believer in the process of 'Brain Dumping'. This is the one thing I do before starting any project or task. All Brain Dumping is, is taking any word, image, or thought and putting it onto paper. A good practice to have as a designer is to carry a not pad and pencil with you everywhere you go. You never know when that next great idea will come to you.

Why did you choose Graphic Design as a career path?
I didn't choose graphic design ... graphic design choose me. I didn't choose it because I liked to draw or make pictures. I went into the field for the opportunities to assist companies visual presence within the world and to get their services out to the masses. A fun task I ask of people is to go to your local grocery store and find me a product that doesn't have some sort of design aspect to it whether it be labeling or packaging.

What do you do when you are not working?
When not working, I go home and work on freelance web projects with clients. I am also an avid fisherman, who also enjoys camping and mountain biking. And on Sunday's you can find me and my wife rooting for my favorite team .. GO PACK GO!

What would you do if you weren't a designer?
To be honest I don't know what I'm going to eat for lunch! I tend to think I would have picked a career that helps others or that changes the world with some sort of new technology. When I was a young boy my dream was to be in the Coast Guard.

Are you artistic?
To be a designer you should hold some artistic capabilities and concepts. As I am capable of creating traditional art forms, I love bridging the gap between old and new when it comes to design.
